Functional boom and jib systems
The boom and jib systems familiar from the LTM 11200-9.1, with Y-pattern guying and a fixed and luffing fly jib are also used on the crawler-track version.
The LTR 11200’s 100 metre long telescopic boom consists of the pivot section and seven telescopic sections. The well-proven TELEMATIK rapid-cycle telescoping system enables various boom extension lengths to be reached fully automatically and pinned into position. As an alternative, work can be carried out with a “short” four-section telescopic boom after removing the four inner telescoping sections. With a 3-metre long lattice end section, a boom and jib length of 55 m is reached.
Various extensions of lattice-tube construction are available. The luffing fly jib can be attached up to a length of 126 m, so that lifting heights of up to 189 m can be reached. The Y-pattern guying system greatly increases load capacity; it can be used with either the four-section or the eight-section boom.
Cost-effective transport logistics
The LTR 11200’s slewing platform, the centre section of the frame with the supports and the crawler tracks are moved on low-loaders. By removing the luffing rams, the weight of the slewing platform can be reduced from 38 to 30 metric tons (t). The centre section of the frame with all four supports weighs 62.5 t. If two supports are detached, the weight goes down to approximately 44 t; with all supports removed, it is 25 t. Each of the crawler-track assemblies weighs 22.5 t with 1.2 m wide track plates, or 26 t with 1.5 m wide track plates. The telescopic boom travels on a separate vehicle. If it has to be installed without a second crane, four optional support rams are available and can be used to force the boom up and hold it in position so that the low-loader can be driven away beneath it. The next step is for the crane chassis to be positioned next to the boom and pinned to it.
The lattice-tube mast sections are also designed for cost-effective transport. With system lengths of 6 and 12 metres and a maximum width and height not exceeding 2.5 metres, they have optimal dimensions for transport. Lattice sections with the three different system dimensions can travel with one inserted inside the other, which greatly reduces transport volume.
The Liebherr turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine on the superstructure of the LTR 11200 has an output of 270 kW (367 hp) at 1800 min-1 and a maximum torque of 1720 Nm at 1300 min-1. The hoisting gear assemblies, which operate in a closed hydraulic circuit, respond with precision and provide the high rope pull value of 167 kN and a maximum hoisting speed of 125 m/min at the outermost rope layer.
