Singapore, October 24 2011 - UD Trucks introduces the first Japanese made Euro 5 trucks to the Singapore market. The forthcoming Euro 5 standard for emissions will already now be applied to its Condor medium-duty and Quon heavy-duty series.
Mr. Mark Gabel, General Manager, Volvo East Asia (Pte) Ltd explained, “We are proud to be the first Japanese truck manufacturer to introduce Euro 5 products into Singapore. UD stands for Ultimate Dependability. UD Trucks offers optimal use of advanced technology to offer better fuel efficiency with minimal impact to the environment which I believe our Singapore customers will greatly appreciate.”
The new UD Euro 5 trucks will feature ECO Fleet exhaust emission technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction-SCR) with improved driver safety and ergonomics.
Mr. Gabel elaborated, “UD Trucks, formerly known as Nissan Diesel, has had over 30 years of presence in Singapore and enjoys strong brand loyalty. Now with a direct presence as opposed to via intermediaries, we can be closer to our customers and thus provide better support for their UD Truck needs. We will offer solutions that enable customers to optimize their vehicle life cycle and we are of course the best ones to do that as we developed these all-new truck range, from the very beginning.”
Condor Euro 5 Trucks new features
UD Trucks has launched its all-new Condor Euro 5 models. The exterior design has been improved with many features including better aerodynamics and reduced air resistance. The interior cabin space has been widened for increased interior comfort and safety.
Adding to the list of features is the all-new, lighter and powerful seven litres, six cylinder, turbo-charged engine, providing better fuel efficiency and higher engine performance.
The GH7 engines are fitted with a newly developed common-rail system that increases the maximum fuel injection pressure for achieving high levels of power and torque in a small displacement volume. The state-of-the-art urea-SCR system includes the UD Particulate Cleaning (UDPC) device. UD Trucks will continue to deliver performance and exceed customers’ expectations.
Quon receives Euro 5 facelift
A leader in the heavy-duty class of trucks, the Quon model has undergone extensive improvement with the change to the Euro 5 standard. The upgrade comes with new A-pillar grab handles for easy cab access amongst others.
The Euro 5 Quon truck models offer Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic Braking Systems (EBS). Quon Euro 5 offers even better environmental performance and fuel efficiency than before. Quon remains one step ahead.
