Ladies and gentlemen, members of the press,
It is my great pleasure to have you here with me today. On behalf of the Volvo Group, I would like to thank you all for taking your valuable time to be with us.
A few words about the Volvo Group
The Volvo Group has over 80 years of rich history and consists of a number of different business areas including Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment, Marine and Industrial Engines and Aerospace components.
Trucks are at the core of the Volvo Group and supplies complete transport solutions to customers in more than 180 countries across the globe.
Being the world’s only true global truck brand, represented on major continents of Europe, Asia North America, South America, Africa and Australia, our trucks hold the responsibility of leading our business sector.
We are the industry spokesperson for our core values which are Quality, Safety and Environmental Care. These qualities have a long tradition and permeate our organisation, our products and our way of working.
The Volvo Group is devoted to industry leadership in Asia too. This is an important region and in the next few months, we intend to expand our presence here and be closer to our Asian customers. In 2010, about a quarter of the global sales which amounts to SEK 66 billion (US$ 10 billion), came from this part of the world which we now consider our second home market rather than an arms-length export market.
And now, Joachim Rosenberg, President of Asia Truck Operations, will share more of Volvo Group’s Asia plans with you.
